The Rev’d Fr. James Moore Guill, SSC, Rector

Fr. Jim Guill

Father Guill became St. Andrew’s Rector August 1, 1999. He was previously the Associate Rector of St. Andrew’s Church in Collierville, Tennessee, as well as Assisting Deacon at Church of the Annunciation in Cordova, Tennessee.

Fr. Guill was born in Memphis, graduated from Union City High School, Union City, Tennessee, and received his BA in English and philosophy from Vanderbilt University in 1977. He formerly practiced law in Cody, Wyoming, and Memphis, Tennessee, having received his JD degree from Emory University in Atlanta in 1980. He earned his Master of Divinity degree cum laude in 1996 at Nashotah House Seminary in Nashotah, Wisconsin.

Jim is a member of the Society of the Holy Cross (SSC), Forward in Faith/North America, and the Anglican Church in North America, Diocese of Quincy, Illinois.

He and his wife Patricia have been married since May 3, 1980. They have three children: Stirling, Caitlin and Patrick.

The Rev’d Fr. J. Roger Allen, Vicar, Iglesia Anglicana de San Matias & Outside Missions

Fr. Roger Allen

Father Allen was ordained a priest in 2007 and initially served as Priest at All Saints Southern Episcopal Church in Nashville. He currently serves as Vicar to an Hispanic congregation (Iglesia Anglicana de San Matias) that meets in the Antioch area.

Roger has worked as a laboratory technician, in corporate security, and in private sitting for the elderly for many years when not ministering in his community.

The Rev’d Mr. Henry Carpenter, Deacon & Acolyte Master

Henry Carpenter

Henry Carpenter is our most senior member. He has been a member of St. Andrew’s and attending regularly since he was a young boy.

Henry was ordained Deacon by Bishop Alberto Morales in July 2017 through the Diocese of Quincy.

He is a practicing attorney and is the father of John Carpenter, our Choirmaster. Henry has been married married to Patty Carpenter for 45+ years and has two grandsons, Andrew & Jack.

John Carpenter, Choirmaster

JC_hs2cJohn has been a member of St. Andrews all of his life and has been a member of the choir since the age of 8.

He has served as the choir director since the church has moved to its current location. He also serves on the Vestry.

He is active in community theater and works in the food merchandising industry. John has been married for 24 years to his lovely wife Jennifer who is also in the choir. They have 2 sons, Andrew and Jack.

Sarah Meyerrose, Organist

Sarah Meyerrose

Sarah Meyerrose is an accomplished Church organist with decades of experience.

Sarah works as EVP/Chief Financial Officer of Franklin Financial Company, parent of Franklin Synergy Bank, headquartered in Franklin, Tennessee. She has been working in banking and related industries since 1982. She was also a co-founder, CEO and Board Member of Paytopia, a fraud resistant online payments processor.

Mac Davis III, Treasurer

Mac Davis IIIWhat can I say, the man knows how to count. Mac has served as our treasurer for 20+ years and keeps us up to date on all issues surrounding our finances. He also serves in our choir as cantor.

Mac works in the financial services industry.

Vestry

Ken Pitts, Senior Warden

Ken PittsKen has served as Senior Warden and Junior Warden multiple times and is a regular delegate to our Diocese’s yearly synod despite the fact that he is a terrible sinner.

He works in the healthcare and IT industries, has been involved with several startups, and is also a past small business owner. A Nashville native, Ken graduated from the University of Tennessee, Nashville and holds a Master’s from Vanderbilt’s Owen School.

Ken is the father of two daughters and has five grand kids. He has been married to his wife of 45 years, Julia Anderson Pitts of Tullahoma, Tennessee.

Dave Backs, Junior Warden

Dave BacksDave backs has expended a lot of effort to take care of us as Junior Warden. His most obvious contribution is the garden we have gifted Concordia Lutheran, which he has tended lovingly, at the most able direction of our resident horticulturist, Olive Wagner.

Dave has been a small business owner focused on hearth and patio retailing. He now works in hardware retailing.

Bob Ahlschwede, Secretary

Bob AhlschwedeBob has served on the Vestry and is very active as an Acolyte.

Bob has worked most of his life in insurance compliance, a regulatory role.

He is retired now, and spends all of his spare time doting on his wife of 50+ years, Marilyn.

Olive Wagner

Our resident horticulturist and continuous Altar Guild member, Olive Wagner, directs Dave Backs regarding the garden and its care, keeps the Altar perfectly shipshape, and serves as a reminder to all as to what service really is.

John Carpenter

John has been a member of St. Andrews all of his life and has been a member of the choir since the age of 8.

He has served as the choir director since the church has moved to its current location. He also serves on the Vestry.

He is active in community theater and works in the food merchandising industry. John has been married for 24 years to his lovely wife Jennifer who is also in the choir. They have 2 sons, Andrew and Jack.

Patty Carpenter

Patty CarpenterPatty Carpenter is the long-suffering wife of Henry Carpenter and saintly mother to John Carpenter.

After raising John and tolerating Henry, she worked as the organizing influence behind Henry’s law practice.

Jack Carpenter

Jack CarpenterJack is a student at Middle Tennessee State University and also works at Food Lion. Like his father, John, he has been involved in community theater.

He is just a little too cool for school.
